Back to the Basics
After given thorough safety and driving instructions you will meet your own team of huskies with whom you will be bonding next couple of days. Driving distance on both days is approx. 40km. We will have a camp fire lunch on the way and arrive to our overnight cabin before evening.
Cabin is basic but warm and charmingly cozy. You will share the cabin with the fellow participants. First we’ll take care of the dogs, you will help feeding them and then it is time to settle in, prepare the dinner ,enjoying the company and naturally, when in Finland, time for Sauna!
There is no running water or showers but traditional wood heated sauna. Toilet facilities are also different than what you are use to: it’s an outhouse.
Next day is a full mushing day and safari ends around 4 pm. Warm thanks to the dogs and farewells to the guides and you will be taken back to the normal life ( to hotel Beana Laponia at least).
You need only your personal things and spare clothing to take with you. We take care of the rest: full board, bed linen, towels, head lamps.
Each participant will have an own team of huskies to drive and take care of, normally four dogs per team.
You should be in a reasonable good condition (able to run short distances with ease) to take part to this adventure.
This safari is done with the minimum of 2 persons and max 6 persons. If all are same party the max can be 8 persons. There will be one Huskypoint guide for 2-4 guests and 2 Huskypoint guides if 5-6 guests. You will be in good hands!
